The very beginning of Smeth and Smoth

About 27 years ago my sister (Luisianna) and i (Natasha) were just two little girls living in the beautiful city of Johannesburg South Africa.
US THEN...

Our mother Annie came from a large Greek-Cypriot family of 3 brothers and 4 sisters including her self; My father originally from Portugal and raised in Angola left his home town to pursue a career and meet the love of his life (my mom).

At that time i was about 3 years old and my sister 2 years older than me. It was the 3rd of April and i was supper exited because it was my birthday!!!
That morning we woke up and my parents were out; leaving us at my Grandfathers house. We loved spending time at our grandparents because we were treated like toddler royalty; getting attention not only from our Mpapou (Grandfather) & Yiayia (Grandmother) but also from all our aunts and uncles.

I must admit that at the age of 3 my talking skills were still very tricky and sometimes words just would not come out as i wanted them to. And in a family where everyone made an effort of taking note of all the "cute" (missed pronounced) things i would say...

In a moment of pure adrenaline and excitement to see a flying creature...The phrase "SMETH, SMOTH" was my poor attempt to say:    'There's a moth!!'
And from that day on, the "phrase" Smeth, Smoth! got permanently embedded in my biography.

Naturally at the age of 3 i was not quite aware of this until my   parents arrived on that day of my Birthday; each holding a human size stuffed animal (Bunny), one pink and one blue!!!
As the birthday girl i ran out to get first pick and chose the pink one seeing as it was the most popular color at that time of my life. My mother handed me the huge stuffed Bunny and told me that her name was Smeth! Next was my sister who was given the huge blue Bunny and was told that his name was Smoth!

I of course did not connect the dots as i was blissfully oblivious to the slightly teasing names given to our Bunnies.  Nevertheless Smeth and Smoth were very much loved and played with until the day we had to leave our first home and move abroad. Due to Smeth and Smoths large size there was just no space in our luggage to bring them along with us.
Naturally my Grandfather promised to keep Smeth and Smoth safe for us until we returned...

Many years latter Smeth and Smoth were given to a new family where i can only imagine that they were loved as they once were when my sister and i were just two little girls.

Lego themed Christening Invitation

We are preparing for the Christening of our Godson Baby Sotiri...

The theme we have chosen to go for is LEGO LAND. So the idea is to mach everything from the invitations to the venue decor and make it look like Lego Land in real life.

Step One: Creation of the invitations
Here i took advantage of my design and Illustration skills and created our own custom made invitation for the Christening event.
Creating Lego characters for each family members that will take place in the realization of the baby's Baptism.

I have chosen a simple size and shape 15x15cm scare shaped invitation that will be printed on both sides in full CMYK color.

The front side of the invite will work as a SAVE THE DATE for this event and the back of the invitation  will contain all the necessary information for the day of the Christening.

With no further Bla-bla, here is the design for our Lego Themed Christening invitation:
